Easter increases April visitors 10 pct to 2.64 mln

Macau had nearly 2.64 million visitors last month, 10 percent more than a year earlier.

The Statistics and Census Service attributed the increase to the Easter holidays.

Of last month’s visitors, nearly 1.43 million were day-trippers.

Over 1.74 million were mainlanders, 14 percent more than a year earlier.

The average length of stay of visitors was unchanged from a year earlier at 1.0 day. Overnight visitors stayed an average of 1.9 days and day-trippers stayed an average of 0.2 day.

In the first four months of this year Macau had nearly 10.33 million visitors, 9 percent than a year earlier, of whom 54 percent were day-trippers.
