Drops in shop and factory prices forecast for H2

Ricacorp (Macau) Properties Ltd expects prices and rents of commercial and industrial space to keep falling in the second half of this year.

Ricacorp Macau chief associate director Franky Fong told reporters that the gaming slump and less extravagant spending by visitors were the cause of the expected falls.

“Shop prices and rents will definitely be adjusted downward in the second half of this year for the prime tourism districts,” he said.

“At the same time we see more commercial interest in setting up new businesses in residential neighbourhoods, where rents have actually risen.”
