DECEMBER GAMING REVENUE FORECAST TO FALL 23-27 PCT

Macau’s casinos had average daily gaming revenue of about MOP794 million (US$99.45 million) in the first eight days of this month, less than the average in November,  Wells Fargo Securities says.

The stockbroker says in a note that President Xi Jinping’s visit to Macau in the middle of this month may further depress gaming revenue.

It now forecasts that gaming revenue will be between 23 percent and 27 percent lower this month than a year earlier, having previously forecast a fall of 22 percent.
“We see the potential for further downside risk to our below-consensus fourth-quarter Macau company estimates,” the note says.
