Construction industry pay gap widens in Q2

The pay of construction workers that are Macau permanent residents is rising faster than the pay of migrant construction workers, official data indicate.

The Statistics and Census Service says the average resident working in construction was paid MOP825 (US$103.35) a day in the second quarter of this year, 4.4 percent more than in the first.

The average daily pay of all construction workers, resident or migrant, rose by 4.1 percent to MOP657.
