Consumer confidence in the housing market has reached a three-year low, according to a Macau University of Science and Technology survey.

Our sister publication Business Daily reports the university telephoned 1,022 residents and asked them for their views on the city’s economy, employment, prices, quality of life, real estate and the stock market.

The index measuring real estate sentiment dipped to 46 points out of 200 in the third quarter, down 6.1 percent from the second quarter and the lowest score since 2010.

Overall consumer confidence eased by 1.4 points between the second and third quarters to 86.2 points – the lowest in the past 12 months.
