City’s VIP gaming growth accelerates in Q2

Gross gaming revenue from VIP players at casinos was 11.2 percent higher in the second quarter of this year than at the same time last year.

Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau data show the city’s casinos recorded MOP58.0 billion (US$7.3 billion) in VIP gross gaming revenue in the second quarter.

First quarter VIP gaming revenue was 9.8 percent higher than a year earlier.

The last time the annual growth rate in VIP gaming revenue exceeded 10 percent was the first quarter of last year.

VIP gaming revenue made up 67.34 percent of all gaming revenue in the second quarter and 67.79 percent of revenue in the first quarter.
