Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On said the government was studying a law to ban migrants from working as casino dealers.

Mr Chui made the pledges on Friday, one day after thousands of people protested the possibility of allowing migrants to work as casino dealers.

The ban was proposed by representatives of the Macau Federation of Trade Unions.

Mr Chui has also promised additional training for croupiers and wants casino operators to offer better job advancement to its Macau staff.

The government will offer more schooling to croupiers who left high school before graduation and will ensure casino operators promoted Macau passport holders.
