Chui commissions report on Macau tourism capacity

Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On has ordered Secretary of Security Wong Sio Chak and Secretary of Social Affairs and Culture Alexis Tam Chong Weng to compile a report for the central government on Macau’s tourism capacity.

Mr Chui told reporters in Beijing that the report would cover management of the border.

He confirmed that mainland officials had invited their Macau counterparts to discuss changes in the individual visa scheme.

The individual visa scheme gives citizens of dozens of places in the mainland visas to travel to Macau as individuals rather than as members of tour groups, who travel on collective visas.
