Casinos to be smoke-free eventually, official says

The government is determined to ban smoking anywhere in casinos to protect the health of gaming employees and patrons, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Alexis Tam Chon Weng has said.

Mr Tam told a press conference that the ban would be included in legislation to be presented before July.

He said he was uncertain when the ban would come into force, but that the government would like it to come into force as soon as possible.
