Several casino resort projects will be completed in the upcoming years, meaning that there will be a high demand for croupiers. However, the casino employees association Forefront of the Macao Gambling (FMG) went to the Government Headquarters yesterday and submitted a petition letter urging the government to limit the increase in the number of casino tables. FMG also demanded that the Chief Executive answer whether he will keep his promise of limiting table growth to 3% per year. The president of the association, Yeung Man Ting, claims that the number of gambling tables rose to more than 5,700 last year, increasing more than 5% compared to 5,400 in 2012, and has exceeded the 3% limit that senior officials had previously mentioned. He is worried that there will be a labor shortage following the opening of new casinos in Cotai, and that the government would seize the opportunity to break its promise to disallow non-resident dealers.
