Macau’s gaming business quickly recovered from the slump caused by gamblers following the football World Cup instead of going to casinos, the Jornal Tribuna de Macau reports.

Gross gaming revenue fell to MOP28.4 billion (US$3.56 billion) last month, 3.6 percent less than a year earlier, as the World Cup distracted gamblers.

But the Portuguese-language newspaper says revenue was MOP2.5 billion higher in the second half of the month, after the football tournament ended, than in first 13 days.
