The development of Macau’s gaming industry is helping to drive sales and innovation in surveillance technology.

Reuters reports about 100,000 surveillance cameras are installed in Macau and that another 50,000 could be installed over the next five years.

The news agency said the city was setting the standard for casino security. Surveillance products in Macau surpassed anything in Las Vegas, for example.

The Asia-Pacific business development manager of Pelco, Bob Ruggles, said demand had pushed suppliers to the pinnacle of innovation.
