Broker says June gaming takings MOP13.6 bln so far

Sterne Agee estimates that table-only gross gaming revenue in Macau’s casinos amounted to MOP13.6 billion (US$1.7 billion) in the first 15 days of this month.

Including revenue from slot machines, the stockbroker’s estimate of the gross gaming revenue run-rate for this month is MOP28.3 billion.

It forecasts that gross gaming revenue will be 2 percent or 3 percent lower this month than a year ago.

Sterne Agee expects the distraction of the football World Cup to curb growth in business in the casinos.
