Three more new land plots in Hengqin have opened up for bidding, which could potentially entice more than RMB560 million worth of investment. Enterprises from the mainland, Hong Kong and Macau can join in the bid.
According to the information available, the three plots can be used for offices, hotels, business and cultural or creative industries.
The first plot (No. 13130) is located in the composite service area of the Hengqin New Zone near UM’s new campus, covering 17,600 square meters. Bidding starts from RMB82,380,000, which is RMB4200 per square meter.
The second plot (No. 13131) is in the Shizimen Central Business District, south of the Hengqin Bridge. Covering 11,400 square meters, the land is open for offices, hotels and business, with the bidding starting at RMB420 million. An additional condition is added for tenderers: potential bidders should be an owner of a listed company in HK or the mainland, with registered capital totaling no less than RMB800 million.
The third plot (No.13132) is open only for creative industries. For this plot, located in the culture creative zone in Hengqin, there are strict limitations upon bidders. Bidders or stakeholders must be involved with Chinese medicine or pharmaceutical industries in the mainland, HK or Macau. Also, they should own stakes in at least one listed Chinese medicine or pharmaceutical enterprise, with a registered capital of at least RMB100 million. This is the second plot designated for cultural and creative purposes that is provided by Hengqin. The bidding starts at RMB57.6 million.
Bidding for these three lands could bring at least RMB560 million revenue to Hengqin, according to Chinese newspaper Ou Mun Iat Po.
The first plot designated for cultural and creative development reached a deal in August for the bargain price of RMB523 million. The winning bidder was a Zhuhai-based company, Winfield Concept Ltd., which is a subsidiary corporation of HK-based enterprise Lai Sun Group, which covers various areas in property investment, hotels, telecommunications, media and entertainment.  GY
