Bank says gaming just going through slow patch

The rate of expansion of Macau’s gaming industry will accelerate after the present slowdown, Morgan Stanley says.

The investment bank forecasts that gaming will grow an average annual rate of 13 percent between this year and 2016.

It has lowered its forecasts of annual growth in gross gaming revenue for this year to 12 percent from 18 percent and for next year to 12 percent from 13 percent.

But it predicts that growth will accelerate to 15 percent in 2016.
