Average builder’s daily pay rises to MOP771 in Q3

The average daily wage of construction workers in Macau rose to MOP771 (about US$96.38) in the third quarter of this year, 9.5 per cent more than in the second quarter, official data indicate.

The Statistics and Census Service says the increase was due to demand for labour for interior finishing work on new casinos being built in Cotai.

The average daily wage of Macau people working in construction increased by 3.7 per cent to MOP980.

The average daily wage of migrant workers on the city’s building sites increased by 8.5 per cent to MOP661.
