April casino revenue could hit MOP28bn: Nomura

Nomura forecasts Macau’s casino gross gaming revenue could go up between 8 and 12 percent year-on-year in April, reaching MOP27 billion (US$3.4 billion) to MOP28 billion.

The Japanese brokerage firm cited its Macau gaming sources noting that the city’s daily run rate remained above MOP900 million in the first seven days of April, on par with the last week of March, suggesting business remains healthy.

Nomura expects stronger growth in May, partially due to a meaningfully lower comparison base in 2012.
