Airport forecasts increase in passengers, revenue

The Macau International Airport Co Ltd is expecting moderate revenue growth this year in the face of avian influenza outbreaks and political instability in Bangkok.

The company reported annual growth of 12 percent in passenger numbers and a 16-percent increase in aircraft movements last year.

Handling 5.02 million passengers was the airport’s best result since the 2008 financial crisis, and it expects numbers to grow to 5.1 million people this year.

The company said its revenue would increase from MOP900 million (US$112.6 million) to about MOP960 million this year.
