AERL’s June rolling chip turnover falls 3 pct

Junket operator Asia Entertainment and Resources Ltd had unaudited rolling chip turnover of US$1.33 billion (MOP10.64 billion) in its VIP gaming rooms in Macau last month – 3 percent less than a year earlier.

AERL said the win rate in its VIP rooms was 3.09 percent last month.

In the first half of this year, the company’s rolling chip turnover was US$8.54 billion, a 15-percent year-on-year decrease.

The company attributed the first-half fall to what it called a “self-directed tightening of credit to agents due to its conservative view on the Chinese economy”.

Gross gaming revenue in Macau was 21 percent higher last month compared to 12 months ago.
