Wynn names phase two of Cotai project Wynn Diamond

The second phase of Wynn Macau Ltd’s development on a 20.6-hectare site in Cotai will be called the Wynn Diamond, our sister publication Business Daily reports.

In a conference call with analysts late last week, chairman Steve Wynn said the second phase would mainly feature non-gaming facilities, including a 15,000-seat arena called the Wynn Diamond Coliseum and larger hotel rooms of about 120 square metres each.

The US$4-billion (MOP32 billion) first phase, called Wynn Palace, is under construction and should be finished by Lunar New Year in 2016.

Mr Wynn did not say if the company would seek more gaming tables for the second phase. Last year he mentioned a figure of 500 tables for the Cotai development.
