The growth of rental and capital values of high-end offices here was the strongest in all of Greater China’s second-tier cities in the first half of this year, Jones Lang LaSalle says.

The estate agency’s Greater China Office Index report says grade A office rents here were 10.5 percent higher in the first half than a year earlier, our sister publication Business Daily reports.

The average annual rent for grade A office space stood at 1,788 yuan (MOP2,334) a square metre – close to the average of 1,849 yuan a square metre in Guangzhou, a first-tier city.

Office rents rose in most second-tier cities in the first half but they rose quickest in Macau.
