Steep fall in housing prices persists in July

Home prices continued to fall from May’s record level in July, data from the Financial Services Bureau show.

The average price of a square metre of residential space fell to MOP66,244 (US$8,281) in July.

That was 33 percent less than in May, when it was MOP98,187 – the most ever.

July’s average price was 12 percent less than in June.

Sale also slowed, with 648 homes sold in July, 91 fewer than one month earlier.
