Casinos blaze trail towards new revenue record

Brokerage Sterne Agee says this month could see a monthly gross gaming revenue record set in Macau.

Analyst David Bain said table-only gross gaming revenue stood at MOP17.6 billion (US$2.2 billion) on Sunday.

If the trend continues, gaming revenue this month would reach MOP31.5 billion, a year-on-year increase of 20 percent, and slightly above the MOP31.3-billion record set in March.

Wells Fargo senior analyst Cameron McKnight says gaming revenue growth up to Sunday was trending between 17 percent and 20 percent.
