Construction workers’ wages rise 1 pct in Q2

The average daily wage of construction workers was MOP603 (US$75) in the second quarter of this year, 1 percent more than in the first quarter, Statistics and Census Service data show.

The wages of construction workers who are Macau residents rose by 5.6 percent to MOP738.

Skilled and semi-skilled construction workers’ wages rose by 1.7 percent to MOP614, while those of unskilled workers increased by 3 percent to MOP379.

After discounting inflation, the wage index for construction workers decreased by 1.7 percent to 87.5 points.
