Macau’s residential market is increasingly becoming skewed towards more expensive housing.

Data unveiled yesterday by the Statistics and Census Service shows that roughly one in every two residential units sold during the first two months of 2013 cost MOP4 million (US$500,000) or more.

During this period, there were a total of 2,143 homes sold, of which 1,028 cost MOP4 million or more, representing 48.0 percent of the total.

Last year, residential transactions valued at MOP4 million or more already accounted for 40.9 percent of the city’s overall 16,917 home sales.
