Gaming table growth cap unchanged, official says

The government’s cap on the growth of the number of gaming tables in Macau remains in place, Secretary of the Economy and Finance Lionel Leong Vai Tac has said.

“For the 10 years onwards from 2013, the increase in gaming tables is limited to 3 percent. This never changes,” Mr Leong told the Legislative Assembly.

The percentage refers to the compound annual growth rate.

“The allocation of tables is based on how the operators help make the city reach the goal of being a centre of world tourism,” Mr Leong said.
