The annual rate of consumer price inflation fell again last month, to 4.64 per cent, official data show.
Inflation has been slowing since May.
The Statistics and Census Service attributes the inflation mainly to higher rents for housing and the higher cost of eating out.
The annual rate of alcoholic drink and tobacco product price inflation was 36.62 per cent because of an increase in tobacco tax, and the annual rate of housing and fuel price inflation was 7.10 per cent because housing rents rose.
In contrast, communication prices fell, at an annual rate of deflation of 0.86 per cent.
