July hotel occupancy rate falls to 80.6 pct

The average occupancy rate of Macau’s hotels and guesthouses decreased to 80.6 percent in July, 6 percentage points less than a year earlier, the Statistics and Census Service says.

The service’s data indicate that the number of people that stayed in a hotel in July rose by 4.6 per cent to 978,000.

Each stayed, on average, for 1.4 nights, 0.1 night longer than people that stayed in Macau’s hotels a year earlier.

At the end of July the city had 102 hotels and guesthouses together containing 30,000 rooms, 7.2 percent more than a year earlier.
