New lending for homes, shops grows in June

Macau’s banks approved new mortgages for housing together worth MOP3.93 billion in June, 5.7 per cent more than the month before, the Monetary Authority of Macau says.

The authority’s data indicate that MOP3.8 billion worth of the new mortgage lending was for Macau residents, 6.2 per cent more than the month before, and MOP126.1 million was for outsiders, 8.2 per cent less.

The banks approved new mortgages for commercial real estate worth MOP6.2 billion in June, 51.8 per cent more than the month before.

MOP5.98 billion of the new lending was for Macau residents, 64.6 per cent more, and MOP261 million for outsiders, 45.4 per cent less.
