Banco Nacional Ultramarino’s profit rose to MOP28.5 million (about US$3.56 million) in the first half of this year, 46 per cent more than a year earlier, Lusa reports.
The Portuguese news agency fails to give amounts for other aspects of the bank’s first-half financial performance.
It quotes BNU chief executive Pedro Cardoso as saying: “We are working step by step to make sure BNU goes through sustainable growth and also to make available for our clients products that on one side strengthen our position in the local market, and on the other side re-establish the Group Caixa Geral de Depósitos as the ideal partner in making sure that Macau secures its position connecting China and the Portuguese-speaking countries.”
Group Caixa Geral de Depósitos is BNU’s parent company.
