Govt lets landholders hold on to 16 plots of land

Secretary of Transport and Public Works Raimundo Rosario has said the government was wrong to classify as idle 16 plots of land that it aimed to take back.

Mr Rosario told reporters said the landholders were entitled to keep the 16 plots. He omitted to identify the plots or landholders.

Since 2011 the government has classified as idle of the 48 plots of land with a view to taking them back, on the grounds that the landholders have failed to develop them as intended.
