April package tourists decrease 7.7 pct to 657,000

The number of package tourists visiting Macau in April fell to about 657,000, or 7.7 per cent fewer than a year earlier, the Statistics and Census Service says.

The service’s figures show fewer package tourists came from the mainland or Taiwan.

The city had 99 hotels and guesthouses at the end of April, together containing 28,000 rooms, 1.7 per cent more than a year earlier. About 18,000 of the rooms were in five-star hotels.
