Stockbroker predicts slow recovery in Macau gaming

Wells Fargo Securities says it expects the recovery of gaming revenue in Macau’s casinos from its present slump to be slower than its recovery from previous downturns.

The stockbroker says in a note: “Once Macau revenue does improve, we don’t expect a sharp V-shaped recovery like 2009 and 2013, given stricter policy settings and lack of broad-based economic stimulus in China.”

Wells Fargo Securities predicts“tighter government oversight, more muted medium-term industry revenue growth and a recovery that is likely to be flatter than prior rebounds.”
