Improve Macau’s transport, US gaming figure says

Macau should improve its transport or it may end up like Atlantic City in the United States, where casinos have been closing because its infrastructure failed to keep up with the growth of gaming, American Gaming Association president Geoff Freeman has said.

“The bridge from Hong Kong is more important than ever. The travel experience is not as traveller-friendly as it needs to be,” Mr Freeman said in an interview with Macau Business.

“Macau has a similarity to Atlantic City in that one regard. Atlantic City was a market that for too long rested on its laurels and it got fat and happy. But it did not address the infrastructure and some of the underlying issues.”
