Housing stock grows by 460 homes in Q1, govt says

The Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau says it gave permission in the first quarter of this year for the occupation of nine new private housing developments together containing 460 homes.

Of the homes declared ready for occupation, 390 are in high-rise blocks of flats.

The government began inspecting another 16 newly built private housing developments together containing 1,140 homes, of which 14 developments together containing 710 homes are on the peninsula.

The Statistics and Census Service says 1,883 real properties of all sorts were sold in the first quarter, 12.7 per cent fewer than in the preceding quarter.

The average price of housing fell by 5.5 percent to MOP89,541 per square metre.
