Some 25,600 more hotel rooms in the pipeline

Macau had 18 hotels under construction and 25 hotel projects awaiting government permission at the end of March, official data indicate.

The Land, Public Works and Transport Bureau figures show that the hotels under construction or awaiting approval are together meant to contain about 25,600 rooms.

Over 9,800 of the rooms planned will be in the hotels under construction: over 7,500 in five hotels on Cotai, over 1,000 in 10 hotels on the peninsula, some 1,000 in two hotels on Taipa and about 200 in one hotel on Coloane.
