Macau hotels Asia-Pacific region’s priciest in Q1

Macau had the most expensive hotels in the Asia-pacific region in the first quarter of this year, a survey found.

The results of the HRS Hotel Price Radar survey indicate that the average rate charged for a hotel room in Macau was nearly US$203 (about MOP1,621) a night in the first quarter, 64 percent more than a year earlier.

The next-highest average room rate was in the Australian city of Sydney, where rates fell, and the third-highest was in Hong Kong, where rates rose but much more slowly than in Macau.
