Valuable Easter nest-egg eludes Macau’s jewellers

Jewellers say their business in Macau over the Easter holidays was poor, Business Daily reports.

The newspaper quotes a spokesman for the Luk Fook chain of jewellers as saying that over Easter this year fewer customers than last year entered its 10 shops in Macau.

It quotes a spokesman for the Seng Fung chain as saying Easter sales were lower in its 10 shops in the city, although he gave no figures.

Jewellers are also gloomy about business in the near future, Business Daily says.
