MICE takings grow 52.7 pct to MOP278.4 mln in 2014

The combined receipts of all meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions held in Macau grew to MOP278.4 million (US$34.8 million) last year, 52.7 per cent more than the year before, official data show.

The Statistics and Census Service says subsidies from the government and other bodies accounted for MOP165 million of this sum, 42.3 per cent more than the year before.

The number of MICE events held fell by 2.42 per cent to 1,055 last year.
