Hengqin access for Macau vehicles in prospect

The conditions for allowing Macau-registered motor vehicles to cross the border freely onto Hengqin Island will be set this year, Business Daily reports.

The newspaper quotes a Macau deputy in the National People’s Congress, Lao Ngai Leong, as saying so.

But Hengqin New Area’s Communist Party deputy secretary, Ye Zhen, speaking to reporters on Tuesday, declined to say when Macau-registered motor vehicles might be allowed access to the island.
