New casinos may get 100-150 tables, paper says

UBS Securities Asia Ltd thinks the government will allow the new or expanded casinos due to open in Macau this year only between 100 and 150 gaming tables each, the Hong Kong Economic Times reports.

The Chinese-language newspaper quotes an associate director of the stockbroker, Anthony Wong Yik-hong, as saying the market expects the second phase of the Galaxy Macau casino-resort, for example, to be allowed only 200 of the 300 tables the operator would like.

“It is possible that it will eventually get between 100 and 150 gaming tables,” Mr Wong said.
