December package tourist tally swells to 1.19 mln

Some 1.19 million visitors came to Macau on package tours in December, 35.8 per cent more than a year earlier, official data indicate.

The Statistics and Census Service says the number of package tourists from the mainland rose by 51.5 per cent to 991,000.

Fewer came from Taiwan, Hong or South Korea.

Last year package tourists from all sources increased by 26.3 per cent to 12.3 million.
