October cross-border trade increases to US$340 mln

The value of merchandise trade between Macau and the mainland rose to US$340 million (MOP2.72 billion) in October, 17 percent more than a year earlier, Ministry of Commerce data show.

The ministry says the mainland’s exports to Macau increased by 26 percent to US$330 million. Macau’s exports to the mainland decreased by 62 percent to US$10 million.

In the first 10 months of this year the mainland’s exports to Macau were worth US$2.82 billion, 7.6 percent more than in the corresponding period last year, while Macau’s exports to the mainland were worth US$160 million, 62 per cent less.
