BROKER THINKS GP WILL PUT BRAKES ON GAMING REVENUE

HSBC Securities forecasts that gross gaming revenue in Macau’s casinos this month will be between MOP24.5 billion (US$3.06 billion) and MOP25.5 billion, or 16 percent to 21 percent less than a year ago.

The stockbroker says the Macau Grand Prix will reduce casino business by curbing the flow of gamblers into the city.

Casino gross gaming revenue averaged MOP846 million a day in the first nine days of this month, having averaged MOP818 million a day the week before, HSBC Securities says.
