16 pct drop in September gaming revenue indicated

Sterne Agee says the indications so far are that gross gaming revenue in Macau’s casinos will be MOP24.5 billion (about US$3.2 billion) this month, 16 percent less than a year ago.

The stockbroker is still forecasting that revenue will be between 15 percent and 19 percent lower.

It forecasts that revenue from mass-market gaming will be about 7 percent higher this month than a year ago, and that revenue from VIP gaming will be about 21 percent lower.
