Exports increase 18 pct to MOP928 mln in May

The value of merchandise exports was MOP928 million (US$116.24 million) last month, 18 percent more than a year earlier, official data show.

The Statistics and Census Service says re-exports were worth MOP741 million,  29 percent more, but that domestic exports were worth MOP187 million, 12 percent less.

The value of merchandise imports rose by 12 percent to MOP7.45 billion, meaning the trade deficit last month was MOP6.52 billion.
