Macau’s foreign exchange reserves were worth MOP122.7 billion (US$15.4 billion) at the end of last month, 2 percent more than a month earlier, official data show.

The Monetary Authority of Macau says the foreign exchange reserves were the equivalent of 13 times the narrow measure of money supply.

The reading of the trade-weighted effective exchange rate index of the pataca – a gauge of the currency’s exchange rate against the currencies of Macau’s main trading partners – was 97.25 points at the end of last month, 0.14 point higher than a month earlier but 1.14 points lower than a year earlier.
