Gaming keeps economy growing swiftly in Q1

Gaming and tourism were again the main drivers of Macau’s economic growth in the first quarter of this year, when gross domestic product increased by 12.4 percent in real terms from a year earlier, the Statistics and Census Service says.

Exports of gaming services increased by 13 percent and exports of other tourism services increased by 6.6 percent.

Another driver of growth was private investment, which increased by 39.8 percent, propelled by construction of big tourism and gaming facilities.
