Analysts see May gaming revenue growth slowing

Wells Fargo now says the trend this month is for Macau gaming revenue to be between 10 percent and 14 percent higher than a year ago.

The stockbroker had estimated previously that revenue would be between 14 percent and 16 percent higher.

Sterne Agee also thinks annual growth in gaming revenue this month is slowing.

The stockbroker says table-only gross gaming revenue was MOP19.2 billion (US$2.4 billion) in the first 18 days of the month. The daily average was MOP920 million by May 18, having been MOP 1.03 billion a week earlier.

Sterne Agee now forecasts that revenue this month will be between 12 percent and 17 percent higher than a year ago.
