Population grows by 7,000 to 614,500 in Q1

Macau’s population was 614,500 at the end of March, 7,000 more than at the end of last year, official data show.

The Statistics and Census Service says the city had 145,692 migrant workers at the end of March, 7,854 more than three months earlier.

In the first quarter of this year 1,637 babies were born in Macau, 800 Chinese immigrated and the net inflow of people granted the right of abode in the city was 158, while 543 people died here.
